Lehnjakov slap

(Tufa waterfall)

OPIS (Description)

(The narrow forest road quickly descends first to the fresh water well area, go by slopes on left and cut across a wide clearing, so that the path down to the waterfall is un front of us. Descend some 30 meters in an easy access: the railway plates and a wooden fence help us to do that (locals organize themselves in 2003). At the footer the waterfall is above us, about 8-10 feet high in its vertical part, then after half of tha inclination the slope of the water flows slowly down. The stream is wide on the flat part of a possible maximum of half a meter and 10-20 centimeters deep, but because waterfal is in a shade, there is enough time for the growth of moss, moss and limestone from poor water flow give us tufa which also gave its name to the waterfall. Waterfall back is wide and wet everywhere, stretching in a natural amphitheater. The slopes are, moreover, covered with moss and travertine, filled the dense undergrowth and high marsh grasses. Water is partialy flowing in narrow jet stream, partialy crawls with an attitude, or quite jealously conceals its movement under the thick moss or vegetation. We visited a waterfall at the end of the very dry winter, so you know what that means. That, over time we'll be go back for new images, with more water.)

DOSTOP (Access)

(In Ljubljana, turn to Besnica from Zalog or something later in Podgrad or in Sostro and continue in the direction of Šmartno pri Litiji throughout the valley of a Besnica stream. Turn short after Zgornja Besnica left to Volavlje, then a steep road leads to the hamlet. Maybe 500 meters from Volavlje there is a sign for waterfalls on the left side of the road.)
